While a number of bills will become law on January 1, 2008, Democrats would like Oregonians to forget the much-needed reforms they killed in 2007, which include:
| HB 2550 | 6/20/07-House Democrats voted to kill the Republican plan to hire a legislative auditor to review the performance of state agencies and increase fiscal responsibility in state government. |
| HB 2613 | 6/19/07-House Democrats voted to kill bipartisan Chalkboard Project legislation to require independent state audits of school district finances. |
| HB 3427 | 6/19/07-House Democrats voted to kill legislation requiring that 65 cents of every education dollar be spent on classroom instruction. |
| HB 3535 | 5/8/07-House Democrats voted to kill the Republican plan to dedicate General Fund resources to the Oregon State Police, at funding levels to provide 24/7 Trooper coverage. |
| HB 3429 | 5/23/07-House Democrats voted to kill legislation to crack down on career criminals who repeatedly victimize Oregonians through property crime, ID theft and auto theft. |
| SB 465 | 6/25/07-House Democrats voted to kill legislation to protect consumers and businesses from employees under the influence of medical marijuana. |
| HB 2861 | 5/21/07-House Democrats voted to kill legislation to keep sex offenders out of communities without 24/7 police coverage. |
“House Republicans will continue to fight for these much-needed reforms,” said House Republican Leader Bruce Hanna (R-Roseburg). “Oregonians shouldn’t have to wait two more years for education reform, 24/7 State Police coverage and other important public safety solutions.”
