Scott Roberts
District 9 — North Bend

After completing training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Rochester, Scott entered private practice in the Bay Area in 1998. He has also maintained a satellite practice for 10 years in Florence. Scott treats patients on the Southern Oregon Coast from four counties and has grown his practice since arriving on the coast. He has a dedicated staff and him and his staff care deeply in providing quality care for their patients treated by his team. He is involved with the local dental and medical community of providers and is currently serving the first of a two-year term as President of the Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Scott and his wife, Michelle, recently celebrated their ten-year anniversary. They both love living on the Southern Coast and feel fortunate to be able to raise their three children; Brendon, Makenna and David in a rural community. The small town values are important to them and they look forward to their up-coming adoption of a little girl from India.

As a strong believer in community involvement and raising their children to become strong in their faith, the Roberts family attends Calvary on the Bay and Scott and Michelle have been involved in the children’s ministry as teachers. Scott helped coach his son Brendon’s flag football team this year for the Boys and Girls Club of Southwestern Oregon and he also is a member of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Florence Chamber of Commerce. In 2005, he received the award for Outstanding Corporate Sponsorship from the North Bend High School. Scott is a supporter of the Bay Area Young Life, the North Bend Mr. Bulldog Pageant, and the South Coast Aquatic Team.

Scott is dedicated first and foremost to his family. Scott and mMichelle spend much of their time enjoying the solitude of living on a small farm, helping their children with homework, playing games, attending their kids various outside activities, and camping and fishing as a family. When not at work or spending time with his family, Scott usually can be found with a book in his hand.

Scott recently announced in November to campaign as the Republican candidate for House District 9. The decision was after much prayer and many discussions with Michelle after seeing the decisions being made by both our National leaders and the 2009 Oregon Legislature. His reasoning is simple. He feels strongly that Oregon needs leaders who are honest, have conservative values, will make hard and difficult decisions based on principals of integrity and sound fiscal economic knowledge, and are not willing to compromise and waiver from those values and principals while serving their constituents.
