Rob Gardier
District 38 — Lake Oswego

Rob Gardier is an entrepreneur, lawyer, former corporate executive and turnaround CEO. He is the founder and managing principal of Candlebuck Ventures Management, LLC, a strategic sales and business development consulting firm located in Lake Oswego. He has been an executive, co-founder, or turnaround CEO of several telecommunications, networking and software companies that were funded with venture capital, and as executive vice president of a financial services company and as a marketing executive with BellSouth. Since 2006, starting as principal consultant for the Oregon Small Business Development Center Network, he has worked with entrepreneurs and growth company management teams throughout Oregon, helping to develop business plans and venture capital funding proposals for companies in industries as varied as semiconductor manufacturing, water purification, gene sequencing, wind and wave energy production, software applications, data networking, manufacturing operations, and food products. He is a member of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and serves as a volunteer advisor for Beaverton-based business incubator Oregon Technology Business Center (OTBC) and the Portland State Business Accelerator (PSBA). He has been an adjunct on the faculty of the PSU School of Business Administration and served as a coach, mentor or judge for the Cleantech Open, the Future Business Leaders of America, and PSU’s Lab2Market program.

Rob holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School, a Juris Doctorate from the Ohio State University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the College of William & Mary in Virginia. He serves as president of the Harvard Business School Association of Oregon (HBSAO) and is founder of the HBSAO Community Partners program, offering pro-bono management consulting services provided by Harvard Business School Alumni to leading Oregon non-profit corporations.
