Diane Schendel
District 36 — Portland

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Diane Schendel and I’m a native Oregonian, born and raised in SW Portland. I am running for office because I have decided that enough is enough! It is time to change the balance of power in Salem and stop the spending, taxing, and borrowing to pay for all the spending. Oregon is on an unsustainable path and we must elect leaders who have the backbone and integrity to end the out of control spending and to fix PERS before it bankrupts our state; leaders who will vote for freedom over government control and bureaucracy.

I understand the dire fiscal crisis that Oregon is in and I am committed to correcting the course that irresponsible legislators have put us on. More and bigger government is not the answer. I am not a politician, I am an ordinary concerned citizen and I will deliver your message to Salem loud and clear. If you want higher taxes, fees, and more regulations, don’t vote for me.

I believe that freedom loving Americans will always choose independence over dependence on government.
